My company just shortened the work week because of the gas prices. I now work one day a week from home, which is fine with me. Up until now, I've just had a pretty old Dell laptop, which is not going to be a good substitute for my PC at work. I need to buy a new PC, and I am totally confused about what all the features mean and how much to spend. I don't need graphics or do much gaming. It's mostly for Microsoft Office. What are some features I should be looking for?

My PC has a feature that says I can back up my hard drive online. How safe is that compared to using a memory stick or an external hard drive? I feel like with the hard drive I at least have my files in my possession..

I am thinking of getting a hybrid car. My lease is up and I need something more affordable. Moneywise, is buying a hybrid worth it?

uploads, downlaods, pdfs and url's, It's all Greek to me. Any suggestions on who to call for quick, in-office computer help when needed? Whenever I am at a loss, I want to holler for my computer savvy sons, but their time is limited and I need a reliable cyber-helper.
